I admit that blogs have an unbelievable convenience factor. Whenever you want an update on your friends and family... all you have to do is click on a bookmark. The creepy thing... anybody could be looking at your blog. Even if you make it a "private" blog, these things are so freaking spider-webbed together by links that they quickly become very public. It is strange when one of my friends comments about another one of my friends when they have never met face to face. Creeeeeeeeepy. The whole thing is so voyeuristic. I actually like reading people's posts, but I can't help but wonder who else is reading them. Peoples grandparents, that girl I just fired, Richard Simmons. I don't know about you, but Richard Simmons sort of freaks me out!
Well, in any case, I submit. I am starting my blog, and I am preparing myself for very awkward and strange conversations with people who have no business knowing about the stuff that I will probably write. But, if Richard Simmons ever writes something creepy about me in his blog, I may just have to move to Canada, change my name to Rodolfo, and grow out a greasy handlebar mustache.
People, just be responsible with information gained from blogs. Understand that you may freak me out if you are talking to me about my friend's family, when you have never once met my friend or any member of his family. And it will freak me out even more if you start gossiping about their poor choice in decorations at their house or their sweet new hairdoo.
We could just make a real simple rule:
Don't go there.
